A Day in Tuscany

Chianti SensationsCollected On A One-Mile Walk

My second book! I was rather amazed that I wrote it in just a few months. During my book tour many people asked if I was working on a sequel, at the time I wasn´t but when I returned to my beloved Chianti hills an incredible series of events occurred in a day. So many as a matter of fact that all I had to do was to have the patience to write them down and in no time A Day in Tuscany was conceived. Again I decided to self-publish and distribute locally and the result was extraordinary. The book will be available world wide in June 07 published by Globe Pequot Press. You can order the book at www.amazon.com or if you prefer a personalized autographed copy of my home made edition contact me at Rasna@dada.it

Dario Castagno

EXPERIENCE TUSCANY THROUGH THE HEART AND MIND OF A TRUE TUSCAN...A CHIANTI NATIVE LEADS YOU THROUGH HIS SUN-BLESSED COUNTRYSIDE--WITH SIDE TRIPS INTO LEGEND, LORE, AND MEMORY

This charming and warmly funny sequel picks up where Dario Castagno´s much loved memoir TOO MUCH TUSCAN SUN leaves off -- quite literally, as the tour guide-turned-author returns from his first American book tour. After three hectic months of pingponging across America, Dario wakes up back in his beloved Chianti and decides to spend the day refreshing himself with its sights, reacquainting himself with its rhythms, and reconnecting with the irresistible cast of characters who people his life, from herb-collecting grannies and wizard-like storytellers, to the daring female Palio jockey and the gently batty “maestro” in his trailer. They trigger in him a flood of memories of this dazzling land -- of wars ancient and modern, of heroes and ghosts, lovers and legends -- as well as comic recollections of his own misadventures as a fireman, hot-air balloon entrepreneur, soccer hopeful, ardent oenophile, and -- of course -- professional guide to a succession of wonderfully eclectic American tourists.

Readers who loved TOO MUCH TUSCAN SUN will relish the opportunity to spend more brilliant, sunlit days in Dario Castagno´s corner of the world. New readers should pour themselves a glass of Chianti Classico, sit back, and prepare to be transported to a place where everyday life is still infused with magic.
